Hello and welcome to the NSASD website. I am Mitch Gesinger, the President of the NSASD for 2007-2008. I am a non-traditional student who decided to return to school to follow my dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. I, like many of you, have now realized the diversity nursing has to offer; and am thinking about the many different avenues available for me to pursue. I currently attend the nursing program at USD in Sioux Falls. Last year I decided to get involved in the NSA so I could have the opportunity to see what nurses do outside of work. What I found is that through the NSA students have the opportunity to learn from others while helping out in the community. I believe that it is through these experiences that we have the chance to grow as individuals and really make a difference. If you would like to find out more about how to join the NSA, or if you are a member and would like to get involved, I urge you to talk to a member of your local NSA if you do not know who to talk to contact me at mgesinge@usd.edu and I will attempt to put you in contact with someone.

Thank you for visiting our site. I hope you have a great year with us; and urge you to get involved because all nursing students are welcome to be a part of the group. Remember prospective employers are looking for involved individuals and the NSA gives you the opportunity to meet the people that hold the key to your future.
